Union Membership

Members of District Council 3 are union construction craftspersons who work in the finishing trades as either apprentices or journeymen. We build communities and families. We are painters and decorators, drywall finishers, and glaziers who perform work in the commercial, industrial, residential, institutional, and public sectors. We are also industrial and manufacturing workers, food service workers and more.
District Council 3 strives to increase work opportunities for our union members, while also working to provide valuable and exciting membership advantages. We support the hardworking men and women we represent with access to state-of-the-art safety and skills training, fair treatment and collectively bargained compensation, and exceptional health insurance and retirement benefits. As a result, District Council 3 members boast successful and rewarding careers in the finishing trades.
Across our union, thousands of IUPAT members participate in one or more local union standing committees. Working with fellow union members on meaningful projects, and fighting for the change we want to see for working people, brings a feeling of solidarity and achievement. But we need many more members at the table to help.
By working together to advance and expand our standing and other committees, we can help meet the needs of our members and community.
